A message from the CEO

Welcome to Community Health Group. We recently celebrated our 27th Anniversary of providing high-quality, affordable health coverage to families throughout the San Diego region. We are very proud of our organization and are always eager to share the details of the plans and the services we provide. We appreciate your interest in our plan and encourage you to contact us with any questions or comments.

Since 1982, we have been dedicated to coordinating quality health care in a culturally competent manner to all San Diego residents. Our staff is reflective of the members we serve and we contract with a diverse
physician network to provide quality care with an understanding of our member’s linguistic and cultural needs.

As one of the oldest health plans in the county, we have perfected the art of customer service. Our staff of professionals is dedicated to taking care of each and every one of our members. Whenever there’s a health concern, no matter how large or small, we are there for our members. Community Health Group is locally based, so our individualized service is unlike any national insurance company.

Our Member Services Department is available year round, seven days a week, 24 hours a day. In addition to English, our staff speaks Spanish and Vietnamese and uses the language line for all other language translation needs our members may require. All member calls to our company are answered in person and we strive to answer those calls within 10 seconds. We know your time is valuable and we work to assist you in a caring manner.

We believe it’s important that our physicians, hospitals and members know who we are and that they receive exceptional customer service. Being local means that our employees live and work in the same neighborhoods as many of our members. Our employees are part of the community and serve on many non-profit boards; giving back to the community is important to Community Health Group staff.

We work hard to develop a close relationship with our physician, clinic and hospital partners and value the quality care they provide our members. Being local allows us an opportunity to get to know those clinicians who provide health care to our members. We are here to provide support, training and exceptional customer service to both our members and provider network.
We are proud of the three plans we offer: Medi-Cal, Healthy Families, Medicare Advantage (Special Needs Plan) and Third Party Administrative services. We are certain that those who select us as their health plan will experience the quality that has made Community Health Group a health care leader in San Diego.
